The Plan of Management for the First Council Chambers, Shellharbour (Crown Reserve 84152) public exhibition closed on 10 June. The POM has now been adopted.

About the site

The First Council Chambers is located at 32A Addison Street, Shellharbour. It is a public reserve consisting of the historic Council Chambers building and associated structures. The facility is made available to the community through an approved tenure through Council. The reserve is categorised as General Community Use and is currently used by community-based organisations for various activities.

Council’s vision for the First Council Chambers recognises the long-term use of the site’s infrastructure, as socially, culturally and physically enhancing the community.

The site will be managed and maintained according to the reserves purpose. This site is categorised as General Community Use.

The First Council Chambers was constructed in 1865 and is a locally significant heritage item under Shellharbour LEP 2013.
