About the Policy

The Acquisition of Land Policy aims to provide Council with a transparent and accountable framework when considering the acquisition of land.

The policy aligns and complies with relevant legislation and Council's Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program and other Operational Plans and Strategies of Council.

The decision making and assessment criteria, as stated in the policy, for any acquisition will consider:

  • Benefits to the community and local economy;
  • Any potential impact on the environment;
  • Council’s strategic objectives; and
  • Funding source and ongoing maintenance and operational costs.
