About the project
At the March Council meeting, Council resolved to place the draft Pesticide Notification Plan on public exhibition for 28 days.
The draft plan has been developed in accordance with the Pesticides Regulation 2017 and outlines how Council will notify the community about the use of pesticides in public places owned or controlled by Council.
It sets out the communication methods Council will use to inform residents about when and where pesticide applications are taking place, ensuring transparency and supporting community awareness
Council uses registered pesticides as part of routine maintenance and weed management to help keep public spaces safe, usable and well maintained. The draft plan does not change how, where or how often pesticides are used, but updates and clarifies Council’s existing notification processes to reflect current practices and regulatory requirements.
Community members are invited to review the draft plan and make a submission during the exhibition period. All feedback received will be considered and reported to Council before a final decision is made on adopting the plan.
Public Exhibition closes: 4pm, 6 May 2026.
