Calderwood is bounded by Marshall Mount Creek in the north; Tongarra road and the suburb of Albion Park to the east; the Municipality of Kiama in the south; and Wingecarribee Shire in the west.

Calderwood has become an area of substantial growth. The area boasts a wealth of natural assets, one of the highlights is its proximity to the Macquarie Pass National Park with its walking tracks and waterfalls. The suburb is amongst active agricultural land and the suburban area of Albion Park.

Calderwood is a hub for young families and is close to six schools. The Calderwood District Park boasts the longest slide in the city for the young, whilst the young at heart can head to Calderwood Golf Course for fun.
